Hang in a hammock or sleep on the ground — The Alpine Hammock™ does it all in a single package, meaning your approach shelter and summit shelter are one and the same. The Alpine Hammock has been redesigned from head to toe (literally!) to reduce weight, improve airflow and make operations easier and more hassle free.

Patent pending “origami” closures manage airflow just above the face, venting condensation-causing breath at the source. The origami design is a redundant closure, channeling water down and out of the interior should water splash through the bug-netting. Using no rigid buckles or fixtures, the origami design adds minimal weight and definite advantages to the Alpine Hammock. Two sizable vents were also added at the head and foot, creating a lengthwise airflow. Generous coverage by the rainfly and a velcro closure on the interior ensures rain doesn’t splash through.

The Alpine Hammock sets up quickly and easily with oversized tabs for use with gloved hands. The elastic rainfly guy line ensures a taught rainfly, reducing pooling and negating the need to hang a separate ridge line for the hammock. The same tie out points are used to suspend the hammock as to stake it out in bivy-mode. Easy!

Included are two 12 foot tree straps with DutchWare ultralight hammock suspension hardware. The Dutch Clip™ and Dutch Cinch allow quick and secure wraps on the tree and a continuously adjustable attachment to the hammock, so the perfect tension on the hammock can be had easily, every time. Comes with a hammock specific stuff sack (variation on a “bishop bag”) that allows quick setup and secure storage.

The pole has been upgraded from the 3 piece, separating fiberglass pole to a single piece, collapsable aluminum pole with an elastic core.
